Western Care fundraising night

Cáirde Crann Mór are holding a night of entertainment Irish style featuring music, singing, comedy, and sean nós dancing in the Roundfort Community Centre Saturday October 9, commencing at 8pm.

This Irish style concert features many local artists including a recital by the Ballinrobe folk group, comedy by the Glencorrib dramatic society, songs from Jenny Mulvey and Sarah Casserly, and traditional music by the Rambling Rogues and the Kavanagh and Dunleavy families. Anthony Kavanagh recently won an all-Ireland title in singing and Darragh Dunleavy won an All-Ireland title playing the mandolin at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann.

One of the highlights of the night will be an exhibition of sean-nós dancing by a local 10-year-old girl, Chloe Feeney. Chloe will demonstrate her skill while dancing on top of a barrel. To round off the night there will be set dancing from the Strawboys. There will be spots and novelties galore and refreshments provided, with all proceeds going to Western Care Services in Ballinrobe. Admission is €10 and children are free.
