Cooking classes with the Bay Leaf Restaurant

What kind of cook are you? Are you the type of cook that loves nothing more than a table full of your friends admiring your culinary skills, and boasting the dishes you’ve spent years perfecting? Or are you the type of cook that may find cracking an egg or beans on toast the limit to your cooking skills? Whichever one you are, the Bay Leaf Restaurant, Turlough, has a cooking course to suit you.

The cookery course, Come Dine With Me, is now back by popular demand. Chef Barry Ralph will take you from serving drinks at the door to your soups, chowder, starters, mains, fish, meat, bread, desserts, and biscuits and he will even advise you on what wine to serve with your meal.

If the above sounds a little complicated, or if you find yourself spending hundreds a month on deli counters, takeaways, and the same readymade meals, then the practical cookery course is the one for you. You will learn how to make practical, tasty, everyday dishes which are cheap, and easy to follow recipes with simple ingredients. This course covers snacks, main meals, what to do with left overs and simple desserts.

Last year’s cooking courses were booked out so book your place now to avoid disappointment. The courses are three weeks consisting of one night a week, which lasts two and a half hours. Each course is €90, this will cover your lessons, a personalised cookbook, first hand tasting and advice on where to shop, when to buy, and, most important, how to cook.
