Mayo County Council engineer being investigated

A senior executive engineer with Mayo County Council is to be formally investigated by the Standards in Public Office Commission — the first investigation into any public service working for the State — for two allegations.

Kieran Lynn will be investigated as to his alleged failure to disclose all of his property interests to council officials and for a conflict of interest, whereby he allegedly used his official position in the council and resources in his work to improve access to property he owned.

Mr Lynn will appear before SIPO, for this public investigation into alleged contravention’s of sections of the Local Government Act 2001, in the near future.
