The members of Mayo County Council were unanimous in extending their best wishes for a speedy recovery to Fianna Fáil councillor Margaret Adams. The Westport based councillor became ill over the weekend and had to be taken to hospital.
At the opening of the monthly meeting of the local authority, Cathaoirleach Michael Burke said, “Before we get started I’d like to wish a speedy recovery to Cllr Adams who fell ill over the weekend.” Cllr Johnny O’Malley also passed on his best wishes, and those from his side of the house. “I’ve known her for many years and she is a very fine public representative and I wish her the very best,” he said.
“I hope to see Margaret back in the benches here very soon again and hope she has a speedy recovery,” Fianna Fáil whip Cllr Michael McNamara told the meeting. County manager Peter Hynes joined in wishing Cllr Adams well.
