Approval has been granted for €540,000 worth of housing grants in the Swinford Electoral Area.
Senior executive officer Paul Benson informed the area meeting this week that applications have been cleared as far as March 2010, which is the approval of 100 jobs in the area.
Mr Benson said that “even though the amount of grants have been reduced”, some applications for private houses were given 75 per cent of the costs.
The committee was also informed that a contractor is being appointed for the Parkview Estate in Charlestown, which has been given a €2.6 million Government funding approval.
