Mayo Fianna Fail TD Beverley Flynn has been informed of the allocation of extra funding for the relief of flooding in the Newport area.
“Minister of State at the OPW, Dr Martin Mansergh, has confirmed that an additional €63,000 has been allocated to Mayo County Council for the required work,” she said. “I am very pleased at this additional allocation which will help mitigate the effects of flooding and will help to ensure against further damage.”
The extra allocation will go toward culvert construction and the clearing of debris from the worst affected areas.
