Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny TD has welcomed the new road markings on the Moneen Road at Kilkenny Cross in Castlebar.
The Moneen Road (R373 ) between Hollow Grove and the Kilkenny Cross roundabout had part of the road resurfaced about one year ago. This resulted in a section of the central line road marking being missing.
“I raised this issue just over one year ago since the new surface was placed,” Deputy Kenny said. “The new road markings are all in place and the concerns of local residents have now been finally rectified. The situation was dangerous at the time because the new road surface partially drifted into the opposite lanes of oncoming traffic. It is regretful that it took this long to place new markings on the road but I welcome that the issue has finally been resolved.”
