The Society of St Vincent de Paul is urging people all over Ireland to support Age Action’s Positive Ageing Week from September 24 to October 2.
Positive Ageing Week celebrates the contribution older people have made and continue to make to their communities and more generally highlights the positive aspects of ageing.
“The SVP benefits greatly from the unselfish work of many older volunteers and urges every sector in the community to support this initiative,” said SVP national president, Mairead Bushnell. “We know and appreciate the value of such an initiative to bring attention to the importance of providing opportunities for older people to continue to use and develop their skills, and use their knowledge and experience, for the benefit of the wider community.”
