European Mobility Week takes place from September 16 to 22 and Castlebar will help celebrate this with a number of events and initiatives taking place in the town.
“Castlebar's Smartest Mover was a really popular competition last year and we hope to continue to run this on an annual basis,” said Thérèse Ruane, chairperson of Iompar Castlebar.
Anyone can submit an nomination. All you have to do is log onto www.castlebar.ie and submit your nomination. You can nominate anyone, just leave your name, contact details (telephone number or e-mail address ), your nominee, and why you are nominating this person. You can also ring Thérèse Ruane at 086 348 3414 if you want to nominate someone by phone. The closing date for receipt of nominations is Friday September 17 at 5pm. The prize will be presented to the winner at a No Car Day event in the Mall at 1.30pm on Wednesday September 22.
