National Organic Week, co-ordinated by Bord Bia and funded by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, takes place from September 13 to 19.
“To celebrate National Organic Week producers, retailers, and farmers markets across Mayo are hosting a variety of events including cookery demonstrations, workshops, barbecues, farm walks, and in store tastings,” said Teresa Brophy, manager Ireland market, Bord Bia.
On September 16 there will be an Organic Centre Open Day in Mayo Organic Centre, Bishop O'Healy Resource Centre, Mayo Abbey, Claremorris; on September 17 and 18 there will be organic food tastings from 11am to 4pm at The Food Store, Ballyhaunis Road, Claremorris; and on September 18 a garden allotment day and organic tastings will take place at Enniscoe Organic Garden, Enniscoe, Castle Hill, Ballina.
