Joe Kelly enters the first of the GOY playoffs next Sunday having established a 1,000 point lead over his nearest rival, Michael Lavelle. In previous years Joe’s coronation as champion golfer would have taken place weeks ago but with the new format, the golfer of the year title is still all to play for.
Joe currently stands on 2,525 points but, with 1,750 points going to the winner in each of the next two competitions, nothing can be taken for granted.
