Scór season about to kick off

This year’s Scór na nÓg county finals have been pencilled in to take place on November 27 in Breaffy clubhouse. This is a few weeks earlier than previously to avoid clashing with events coming up to Christmas and to give competitors more time to prepare for the Connacht competition.

With that in mind the North Mayo Scór na nÓg divisional finals are scheduled for Ballina Stephanites clubhouse on November 19. Clubs should contact the co-ordinator Michael McAndrew. Hollymount hall will be the venue for the south Mayo divisional competition on November 13 at 8pm. The co-ordinator is John Muldoon. The east Mayo finals take place in Knock Community Centre on November 13 at 4pm, and those interested should contact Grainne Freyne. Louisburgh will host the west Mayo finals in the parochial hall at 7pm on November 12, Mary Fergus is the contact person in this division.

There are some changes to the rules this year. All competitors must have a membership number on the entry form. A keyboard is allowed in the instrumental music competition, it must be battery operated and in piano mode. Copies of the rules will be available on the GAA website shortly.
