A 22-year-old man who engaged in a fight in a Castlebar car park was before Castlebar District Court on Wednesday where he was convicted of being threatening and abusive in a public place.
At 3.17am on August 29 at the Castle Street car park gardaí observed a number of people had gathered. Damon Cunningham, 19 Fr Meehan Place, Castlebar, was observed to have his top off and was in a fight with another male. When Cunningham saw the gardaí he ran off before he was arrested.
The defendant who has two previous convictions was convicted and fined €300 by Judge Mary Devins.
