A 61-year-old man from Ballyhaunis was killed on Monday when his car collided with a van on the main Claremorris to Ballyhaunis road.
The incident occurred in the townland of Coilmore between 2.30pm and 2.45pm. The man who has been named as Peter Meenan, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A female passenger was removed to Mayo General Hospital. The two people who were in the van were uninjured.
