Two restaurants located in Mayo hotels were commended at this year’s Food & Wine Magazine/Penfolds Restaurant of The Year Awards 2010.
La Fougère, Knockranny House Hotel, Westport, was commended in the Penfolds Best Restaurant in Connaught category, while resident chef Seamus Commons was highly commended for the Penfolds Best Chef in Connaught accolade, along with Stefan Matz, Ashford Castle, Cong.
The announcements were made at the awards which were held in the Four Seasons Hotel in Dublin last Sunday. The awards, now in their 10th year, are recognised as the most prestigious by restaurants and public alike.
