A Ballina woman was given the benefit of the probation act this week in Ballina District Court after pleading guilty to theft.
The court was told that Margaret Horne, 15 St Muredach’s Terrace, Ballina, stole €28.95 worth of cosmetics from TK Maxx on Prospect Hill, Galway, on April 29 at 3.55pm. She was subsequently arrested by Garda Patrick James Noone and all the property was recovered and returned to the store. Judge Conal Gibbons gave Horne the benefit of the Probation Act.
