Two men appeared in court in Ballina this week after being charged by gardaí in relation to a number of break-ins in the town in the recent past.
Both Gerry Foody, 68 Greenhills, Ballina, and Tommy McLellan, 89 Bar na Dearg, Ballina, were remanded on their own bail to appear in court again on September 14. Both men agreed to a number of strict bail conditions including signing on daily at Ballina Garda station between 9am and 9pm, abiding by a curfew between 10pm and 9am, and abstaining from alcohol and drugs during their period of bail. Gardaí were given liberty to re-enter the charges at 24 hours’ notice if either of the men broke the conditions of their bail.
