MEP, journalist, and TV personality Mairead McGuinness will officially open the 22nd Annual Swinford Agricultural Show at the Swinford Amenity Park this Saturday August 21.
With something for all the family, special features are the National Young Stockpersons Final, the All-Ireland National Suckler Heifer Championship Final, The Grovite All-Ireland Hogget Ewe Championship, and the Connacht Gold Beef Bullock Championship. Equine classes include sport horses, Connemara, coloured, and ponies. Poultry classes will feature the All-Ireland Bantam Chicken Championship, and dogs, pedigree and non pedigree, and pets. Trade and craft stands and photography will also be on show.
Music includes Keith McDonald and the Showband Show and the multi-talented Blue Grass Band. Children can enjoy an obstacle course, bouncy castles, slides, go-karts, face painting, fancy dress, and pets’ corner. Also worth seeing is the charming Ox Mountain Railway, and some beautiful vintage cars. Watch "the big strong boys" go head to head to find the champion potato picker and turf footer, and have a go yourself.
The show will also feature a bonny baby competition, and best dressed person competition. Enjoy the fun and frolics provided by the Swinford Variety Group, and see the stars of the recent Swinford’s Got Talent competition, and much more. A great day out for all the family.
