Businesses in the Irish motor industry are being given the opportunity to celebrate their successes over the past year with the launch of a brand new Irish Motor Industry Awards programme.
Backed by the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI ), the official voice of the motor industry in Ireland, and sponsored by Castrol Professional, the specialist lubricants and business improvement solutions provider, the awards are now open for entries from any franchised dealership in the country.
Award categories include Best Retail Operation Of The Year/Aftersales Operation Of The Year/Innovation Of The Year/Franchised Dealership Of The Year and Unsung Hero Of The Year.
“Although the motor industry has been struggling with enormous challenges over the past two years, there are still some remarkable successes in the sector, as businesses have adapted to the downturn through innovation and an increased customer focus,” said Alan Nolan, director general of SIMI. “We want to recognise the achievements of those who have excelled during a very difficult period and we believe that the whole industry will benefit from celebrating such positives from the last year.”
Dave Watson, head of Castrol Professional in Ireland, added: “We’re very pleased to join SIMI in recognising best practice in the franchised motor trade. We work with hundreds of dealerships in Ireland and have seen for ourselves how well many have adjusted to the economic circumstances by implementing positive, constructive changes to their operations. I very much look forward to applauding not only the award-winners, but also the industry in general.”
The awards ceremony will take place at Killashee House Hotel in Naas, Co Kildare, on 16 November 2010, during the SIMI annual conference.
