Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny TD has welcomed confirmation from An Garda Síochána that community policing has been expanded to the Swinford District.
“The use of community policing is widely recognised as one of the most important methods of improving communications with local communities. These offices have worked extremely well in the past in other areas. I am sure that the newly established office in Swinford will make the area a safer place to live, work, and visit. The establishment of this office makes engaging with An Garda Síochána much easier and should result in improved identification of policing issues in the area,” said Deputy Kenny.
