The Coronas have had a phenomenal rise over the past two years. Their debut album Heroes or Ghosts achieved platinum selling status in Ireland with hits such as ‘Grace, Don’t Wait’ and ‘San Diego Song’.
Following a successful 2008 the Coronas were beginning to turn heads on an international scale. In Ireland they had achieved platinum status and a stunning run over a year in the charts with their debut album Heroes or Ghosts. They sell out shows up and down the country.
In early 2009 they signed a licensing deal for the album with Japanese major JVC, which was followed by a visit to Tokyo, a whirlwind of Japanese promo, and a couple of packed showcase shows in the prestigious FAB venue.
After the success of their debut, the band were eager to get stuck in to their follow-up album, Tony Was An Ex-Con, which has been produced by John Cornfield (of Muse, Supergrass, and Razorlight fame ) and this has become another instant smash hit upon its release late last year. Having played a hugely successful gig in December 2009 the Coronas are coming back to the Gateway Leisure this Saturday. This promises to be a great night of entertainment with a barbecue on the balcony kicking things off at 7.30pm at €10 for all you can eat. At 9pm iRadio DJ Mark Cunning will get the crowd warmed up with the best in pop and chart music. The Coronas will take to the stage after this and Mark Cunning will return to the stage to finish the night off with a bang.
Some tickets are still available so call the Gateway Leisure on 097 20002 for more details or to reserve tickets for what promises to be one of the best nights of the year.
