Susan Boyle came to international public attention when she appeared on Britain’s Got Talent last year and made her dreams come true by shocking audiences with her truly amazing voice as she performed ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ from Les Miserables. More recently she made a very special guest appearance as part of Daniel O’Donnell’s concert at The Royal Theatre, Castlebar last Saturday night, July 24. Susan, who was on a private visit to Knock Shrine, received a total of four standing ovations during her surprise performance. Susan sang ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ and also joined Daniel O’Donnell in a duet of ‘Our Lady Of Knock’.
“It was a dream come true to have Susan perform at the theatre,” said Pat Jennings, managing director of The Royal. “Susan has been a fan of Daniel’s for years and has attended many of his concerts. The performance was the first time that Susan has sung in Ireland. Susan is in the middle of recording her second album which will be released at the end of November this year and it is hoped that she will return to The Royal Theatre in Castlebar with her own concert in the future.
