Drunk woman crashed her car outside Garda Station

A 24-year-old woman, who when intoxicated crashed her car outside Claremorris Garda Station, was disqualified from driving at Claremorris District court on Tuesday.

On September 7 2009 at 11.40pm, gardaí were alerted to the fact that Edel Flaherty, Glenbricken, Clifden, Co Galway had crashed her car outside the station. It transpired that the defendant had collided with a parked car, lost control and then crashed into the footpath.

Flaherty failed a roadside breath test and she later provided a urine sample which showed 303mg of alcohol per 100ml of urine.

The defendant, who has no previous convictions, was convicted and fined €600, by Judge Mary Devins, and disqualified from driving for three years.
