Two Mayo locals placed first and third at the inaugural Your Store’s Got Talent competition, a Tesco charity fundraiser in aid of the Irish Cancer Society, for which participants helped to raise over €11,500.
Westport man David O’Regan beat stiff competition from the 13 other Tesco contenders to win the title of Your Store’s Got Talent with his version of the Damien Rice song, ‘Cannonball’.
The talent in Mayo didn’t end there as Tesco Castlebar’s Chloe Cresham’s excellent rendition of ‘Use Somebody’ won her third place on the night.
Tesco Castlebar also provided another act on the night – Anthony and Julie performed comedy skit ‘Tesco Marriage Bureau’ while Shane McHale from the Claremorris store sang ‘Amazed’ and Patricia Butler from Ballinrobe sang ‘Old Flame’.
The funds raised by Tesco COTY will go towards the national rollout of the Irish Cancer Society’s Care to Drive programme, a volunteer driving service for cancer patients.
