A 49-year-old man, who was detected driving while almost four times over the legal limit, was disqualified from driving for three years at Ballina District Court this week.
John McLoughlin, Moyne, Killala, was observed by gardaí to cross over the continuous white line, on two occasions, on the road from Killala to Ballina at 7.18pm on March 4 2010. McLoughlin was arrested for drink driving and a blood sample provided showed 302mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood.
Judge Mary Devins said that it was a “very serious” incident and convicted and fined the defendant €700 and disqualified him from driving for three years.
