Fine Gael Leader, Enda Kenny, TD, has received confirmation from the Justice Minister, Dermot Ahern, TD, that further improvements will be carried out at Louisburgh Garda Station.
Water damage from a burst pipe during the cold weather last January has been repaired and these repairs to the public office of the Garda Station were completed in May. However, the Office of Public Works has issued tenders for additional refurbishment works at the station and these will commence upon completion of the tendering process.
Deputy Kenny said: “Following contact from Councillor Austin Francis O'Malley, I made representations to the Office of Public Works on this matter which have since been resolved. The news that further refurbishment works are taking place at the station are strongly welcomed and I hope that the tendering process is completed as soon as possible.”
