Deposit on Westport property to be handed over to Law Society

The High Court has ordered that a deposit on a Westport property, which was paid by struck off solicitor Michael Lynn, should be handed over to the Law Society.

In 2006 Mr Lynn paid €54,000 on a €1.1 million property which is located at Crow Hill, Westport. The Crossmolina native left Ireland after it emerged in 2007 that he had liabilities of more that €80 million.

This week the Law Society applied to have this deposit transferred as the society has already paid out more than €1 million in claims made by clients of Mr Lynn.
