A 21-year-old college student who was detected by gardaí to be over the limit the morning after a night out, was disqualified from driving for two years at Castlebar District Court this week.
Brian Lally, Newport Road, Castlebar, was stopped by Garda Patrick Forde on July 20 2008 at 9.17am, after Lally’s car was observed to drive at excessive speed. The defendant’s car was followed where he entered the Moneen Industrial Estate, got out of the car and placed the keys on the roof of the car.
A breath sample provided showed 47mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath.
Judge Mary Devins convicted and fined Lally €350 and disqualified him from driving for two years.
