A Ballyhaunis man was convicted and fined €500 in Ballyhaunis District Court this week after he pleaded guilty to committing threatening or abusive behaviour in a public place.
Michael McDonnagh, 8 Toraree, Ballyhaunis, was arrested by Garda Sgt Kieran McNicholas on Main Street, Ballyhaunis, on May 2 2010 at 1.50am after Sgt McNicholas observed McDonnagh walking down the street in an intoxicated state, picking up a pint glass and throwing it at a passing car.
When Sgt McNicholas approached McDonnagh, the convicted man became aggressive and started thumping his fists on the ground before being arrested by Sgt McNicholas.
