Six Tesco Ballina staff— Maurice Sheehan, Christine Forde, Brendan McCafferty, Philip Pooley, Chris Cawley and Louise Flynn—took part in an annual Croagh Patrick climb earlier this month to help raise over €1,000 for the Irish Cancer Society.
To add a touch of heroism to the day, the Tesco team faced the unexpected challenge of aiding a woman who fell 30 metres and injured herself. The woman, who was climbing with her 10-year-old boy, was cared for by the team who waited with her and her child for two and a half hours, until a helicopter arrived.
