Mayo’s 5,440 family carers provide 130,000 hours of care in the home each week to frail older people, people with disabilities, the terminally ill and those with special needs. To recognise the enormous contribution of these carers, The Carers of the Year Awards 2010 has been launched.
Members of the public including health professionals are invited to nominate their chosen family carers.
