Electrical bike worth €3,000 up for grabs

A €3,000 electric bike being ridden across 32 counties in 32 days in aid of Autism Ireland is to be raffled off for pick-up by the winner at the completion of the marathon journey. The raffle draw is set to take place at the Electric Picnic outdoor music festival on September 3 next.

Michael O'Loinsigh from Autism Ireland is riding the extraordinary hand-built bike which is the first of its kind to hit Ireland and is capable of speeds over 100km after a single charge from its on-board computer. The bike has been donated by Goeco.ie electric bike specialists from Limerick.

“We are looking to raise over €32,000, that’s €1,000 a day and every cent will go to help families coping with this condition,” said Mr O’Lionsigh.

A number of celebrities have pledged to help fundraise including Keith Duffy of Boyzone fame and Ronnie Whelan, the Republic of Ireland soccer star, who got the trip off to a start on Friday July 3.

Raffle tickets will be available in all Electrical Expert stores across the country and along the route which can be viewed at www.goeco.ie or contact Micheal on 087 2827398 or Marty on 061 381427.
