A married father of 11, who was involved in a row outside a Ballina hotel and told gardaí who intervened to “f**k off”, appeared before Ballina District Court on Tuesday.
On June 9 2010 at 10.46pm, gardaí were informed about a row in the car park of Hotel Ballina on the Foxford Road. Gardaí attended the scene and observed Martin Ward, Drimacool, Edmondstown, Ballaghaderreen, Co Roscommon, who was shirtless, shout and roar.
When Ward was asked for his name and address repeatedly, he said: “F**k off I’m not telling you... who the f**k are you?”
The court heard that Ward had been at a wedding that day and an argument ensued with his brother-in-law at the reception.
The defendant, who has two previous convictions, was convicted and fined €200 by Judge Mary Devins.
