Castlebar ladies
Wednesday competitions are now back to 13-hole stableford competitions and last week’s competition sponsored by Lyon's Late ‘N’ Early was won by Breta Fitzmaurice with 26pts. All our competitions are now complete for our Golfer of the Year and congratulations goes to Daryl Conroy on being this year’s deserving winner.
Keep an eye out for details of the past captain's day which will be held later in October. The AGM is coming up on Wednesday October 29 at 8pm. Hope to see you all there and any motions you would like to be raised at the meeting should be submitted in writing to the lady secretary before October 24.
Ballyhaunis
Last week’s competition saw Paul Finnegan win the junior section with a score of 73 playing off 20. The ladies competition was won by Fiona Prenty with a good score of 69, while Jenny Glynn took second with a fine round of 74. The gross prize was taken by Norrie Dillon who scored 91 off 16, while Margaret Hierons came home in third with a score of 76.
The gents competition saw Seamus Swift hold on to steal the win with a score of 67 playing off 12. David Burke also hit a score of 67 to come home in second place playing off 14. Noel Crean came home in third, only one shot behind with 68 off 23, while Tommy Moran took the gross prize with a score of 77 off 6.
Mayo teacher’s golf alliance
The Mayo teacher’s golf alliance season's second outing took place recently at Tuam Golf Club. It was a historic occasion as this was the very first time that Tuam Golf Club was included in the fixtures of the Mayo teacher’s golf. Martin Halpin was the overall winner with a score of 37pts. The ladies winner was Nuala Forde with a score of 34pts.
