Club served even though it had no extension

The licence of the Erris House Hotel, Geesala, was endorsed by Judge Seamus Hughes this week, after patrons were found to enter the premises after closing time and were served alcohol past closing time.

It was outlined that on August 29 2009 at 1.50am, gardaí observed patrons pay to enter the nightclub at the hotel and inside patrons were being served alcohol. The hotel, which is a franchise of Baxton Ltd, Dublin, did not have an extension for that night.

There was no representation for the hotel in court.

Judge Hughes endorsed the hotel licence and convicted and fined a total of €700.
