Prison for man for public order offence

A drunk man who refused to leave an area when directed by a garda has been sentenced to 28 days in prison.

At Ballina District Court on Tuesday the court heard that on February 16 2010 at 1.25am, gardaí were called to a disturbance at a house in Fearon Terrace.

Brian Moran, 11 Tom Clarke Place, Ballina was observed to leave the house. The defendant was intoxicated and staggered as he walked. Moran was offered a lift home by gardaí, however he declined and refused to leave the vicinity when directed to do so.
