Man stopped for drink driving on way to hospital

A chef from France, who when on his way to Mayo General Hospital as his partner had been admitted, was arrested for drink driving was disqualified from driving for three years at Castlebar District Court on Wednesday.

Garda Collette Farragher arrested Bernard Le Cadre, Altinea, Bohola, Claremorris, on April 27 at 9.50pm for driving while drunk. A breath sample provided at the Garda station showed a concentration of 73mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath.

The 54-year-old father of one, who works as a chef in a local hotel, was convicted and fined €400 and disqualified from driving for three years by Judge Aeneas McCarthy.
