Following a well-attended public meeting a formal proposal will be submitted to the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland for a temporary licence with the aim of securing a full time community radio station in Westport in the future.
The committee will be meeting again in a couple of weeks to begin formally compiling an application but in the meantime members of the public and local business, clubs, and organisations are encouraged to register their support for the idea at www.westcoastfm.com Applications are also welcome from those wishing to help, volunteer at the station, or who have an interest in radio.
