Fine Gael spokesperson on community, equality, and Gaeltacht affairs Michael Ring TD is advising people to check their passport situation before booking a holiday.
“With the ongoing dispute in the Passport Office, it is taking 22 working days before passports are being issued and this is through the Passport Express Service.
“People have lost out on trips whether for holidays or business abroad simply because their passport has not been up to date. These people have not been able to get their passport in the 10 days that they were accustomed to. People should be aware that the 10 day guarantee for receipt of applications submitted through the Passport Express service is suspended.”
