Flood relief of €128,700 from the OPW has been allocated to Mayo. The Owenwee River, Westport receives a total of €52,200; Dookinelly, Achill Island, gets €45,000 to provide an open drain to the sea as well as roadside drainage while Derryguillinan, Cloghans gets €31,500 for relief works.
Welcoming the funding, Deputy Beverley Flynn said the Owenwee allocation will go towards drainage, culvert repair, fencing and road strengthening at two locations.
