New Irish theatre comes to the stage

Setanta Murphy, a touching, funny and relevant new play with an all-star cast, takes place at the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar on Tuesday June 8 at 8pm.

Setanta Murphy is a young man with a lot of time on his hands. Paddy is his grand-uncle, a cantankerous 90-year-old with a razor-sharp tongue who spends his days around town and his nights at the dog track. When Paddy gets sick, they are thrown into the messy world of public hospitals until Paddy finds himself in a nursing home, plotting his escape. Setanta Murphy is the touching and funny story of a relationship between an old man and his nephew as they attempt to navigate their way through ups and downs of the Irish health system.
