Today, Friday May 28, 25-year-old Castlebar man Mark Heverin will begin a gruelling Pedal to Peaks Challenge, where in 24 days he will climb to the highest point in each of the 32 counties and cycle all 1,900km between them — all in aid of the Irish Cancer Society.
Mr Heverin decided to undertake this cause after his father, Michael, passed away from cancer. Michael, alongside Mark, dreamed up this trip in Michael’s final weeks, and Mark aims to raise vital funds for cancer research in Ireland.
