The free Féile na Tuaithe 2010 takes place on Saturday May 22 and Sunday May 23 from 12 noon to 5pm.
This year the National Museum of Ireland – Country Life has put a focus on tips, demos, and practical information about gardening and growing your own for the festival of the countryside.
There will be a series of wildlife walks on Saturday afternoon in the museum grounds with wildlife ranger Maurice McDonnell. Children can meet more familiar animals at the animal corner, and Rob Steinke the master saddler brings his ever popular miniature ponies.
There will be a comedy act with the Fanzini Brothers, sean nós dancing, and a tinsmith demonstration.
The birds of prey from Eagles Flying will take to the skies and the West of Ireland Spaniel Club will have demonstrations on Saturday,
The craft and food tents are also open for business with delicious fare and Irish craft produce to tempt visitors.
A free shuttle bus service to Féile na Tuaithe will operate on the hour from Castlebar library, from 12 noon to 4pm. The service will return from the museum gates to Castlebar library on the half hour from 1.30pm to 5.30pm.
