A Mayo school teacher has been busy distributing rosary beads to schools throughout the parish in a bid to generate hope in society. Ms Detta Molloy along with a team of volunteers have so far distributed almost 20,000 rosary beads with Rosary of Hope booklets. People are being asked to say a decade of the Rosary every day in May for their own special intention and children in particular are encouraged to take part.
The project has received the blessing of Archbishop Michael Neary of Tuam who said that Irish society certainly needs prayer, hope, and encouragement at this time.
Ms Molloy added that in these times of gloom and doom there has never been a greater need to inspire hope in people once more. A day of prayer and healing has now been organised for tomorrow, Saturday May 22, in Clonfert with a bus travelling from Castlebar. Further details on 086 8197111.
