Ball
The annual Cathaoirleach Ball will take place on Friday June 11 in Westport House. Tickets are now available from the town council and money raised will go towards the Lions Club.
Nomination
The town council is to submit a nomination to the Rehab Irish People of the Year Awards for Westport woman Gena Heraty, in relation to her relief work in Haiti.
Civic reception
A civic reception for newly appointed Judge Seamus Hughes was proposed at the town council’s monthly meeting.

Westport will host the Westport of the Worlds Convention from September 16 to 19.
