A boxer with the Irish squad was before Ballina District Court this week for a public order charge which arose after the 20-year-old was refused entry to a nightclub.
Gardaí observed Patrick Walsh 3 Avondale Court, Ballina, in an intoxicated and agitated state on Clare Street, Ballina, on May 1 of this year, after Walsh was refused entry to a club.
On five occasions Walsh was directed by gardaí to leave the area, however he failed to do so. The defendant also failed to give his name to gardaí.
The leisure management student was directed by Judge Mary Devins to contribute €200 to the Special Olympics Committee.
