Big Brother Big Sister seeks youth mentor volunteers

Big Brother Big Sister of Ireland, a charity operated by Foróige, is inviting people to participate in its youth mentoring programme in Castlebar.

The hugely successful programme requires volunteers to come forward to meet the growing demand for the programme by young people and parents in the area. Volunteers are asked to become a positive role model and support in the lives of young people by sharing their time, interests, and hobbies with a young person for about one hour each week. Activities can include playing football, cookery, computers, cinema, and bowling, etc. Time commitments are very flexible and volunteers and young people can meet at times to suit.

Big Brother Big Sister volunteers are ordinary people of all ages, who want to give something back to the community and make a difference in the life of a young person. As well as being very beneficial, the programme is also very enjoyable for volunteers and young people alike.
