Spanish holidays from sunny Knock

Holidaymakers from the west of Ireland need not worry about flight cutbacks as Ryanair this week announced a new three times weekly service from Ireland West Knock to Reus-Barcelona.

Welcoming the new service which will increase seat capacity at the airport to almost 30,000 passengers, Joe Gilmore, managing director, Ireland West Airport Knock said: “We are delighted after all the disruption caused by volcanic ash this week to be able to bring some good news with the launch of this new service which we are sure will be welcomed by holidaymakers in the region.”

Reus borders the east coast of Spain with its sun-drenched shores of Costa Dorada. The area includes popular family-friendly resorts, the world class Porta Ventura theme park and two ‘splashtastic’ waterparks, all just an hour from Barcelona.

The addition of Reus-Barcelona complements Ryanair’s existing network of routes at Ireland West Knock which include daily scheduled services to Liverpool, London Luton and London Stansted airports in addition to the four times a week services to East Midlands, Bristol and the new three times weekly service to Leeds Bradford. The service will operate during the 2010 summer season from May to October initially.
