Cannabis plants grew in Shrule bedroom

A man who had four cannabis plants growing in his bedroom was given the Probation Act at Ballinrobe District Court last week.

On September 10 2009 at 12.25pm the Garda drugs unit searched the home of Jonathan Gilmore, 20B Churchfields, Shrule, where 18 inch high cannabis plants were found in the defendant’s bedroom. The plants were not budding and were valued at €50 each.

The defendant who has completed a TEFL course and who intends to go to Asia to travel was given the benefit of Section 11A by Judge Mary Devins.
