An elderly woman from Ballina was killed after a truck struck her on O’Rahilly Street, Ballina, on Tuesday morning, while a motorcylist was injured following a collision in Manulla on Tuesday afternoon.
The fatal accident in Ballina occurred around 8am on Tuesday, where a 65-year-old pedestrian was hit by a truck. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The road was closed for forensic examination and witnesses are asked to contact Ballina Garda station.
On Tuesday at around 2.35pm, a two vehicle collision occurred between a motorbike and a tractor at the Manulla crossroads on the N60. The driver of the bike was injured and gardaí are investigating the matter.
The Star newspaper on Thursday reported that a body was spotted in Achill by a person on a tour bus. According to a garda spokesperson, this incident occurred a few week’s ago and the deceased person had died of natural causes.
